The history of Alice Springs township began in 1871 when a telegraph repeater station was built at a location called Alice Springs. This was one of several repeater stations between Adelaide and Darwin and the township that grew up 3km south of this location was initially called Stuart, but was officially changed to Alice Springs in 1933. The town now a city of 27,481 people is worthy of a visit. The city is colourful to say the least.

Mike & BB were here 15 years previously and enjoyed the area having done 'the rock' by personalised tour by an ex-policeman, turned tour guide and our own sightseeing of downtown 'Todd Mall' and the city proper. This trip we decided to do the outer gorges and sites and we hope you enjoy some of the photo's.
