Well we had a great week planned for the Western Australia's
(WA's) South West Margaret River Wineries and surrounds and then the
the devastating fire hit the towns surrounding Prevelly a week
before our departure. The November 23-24 2011 blaze
erupted when a prescribed burn by WA's Department of Environment
and Conservation (DEC) flared out of control in the national
park, about 280km south of Perth. It didn't stop us from
supporting the community by still visiting the area which as one
would imagine kept most tourists away. We have not included
photo's of burnt dwellings in respect to the owners although 1-2
photo's may indicate how devastating the fires were.
By the way the wineries and commercial enterprises still
turned on a magnificent week for us with wining and dinning and
the must have chocolate, nut and cheese factories tours were a
sheer delight.
Not a lot of photo's but Mike & BB hope you enjoy them
just the same, so have a look around.
